Chan Hon Goh - National Ballet of CanadaChan Hon Goh came to Canada as a young girl from Beijing, China and studied at the Goh Ballet Academy in Vancouver before joining the National Ballet in 1988. A Principal Dancer since 1994, she has enthralled audiences at home and abroad with her unforgettable performances in such ballets as Romeo and Juliet, Onegin, The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Giselle and The Taming of the Shrew. Renowned for her classical poise and impeccable technique, Ms. Goh is capable of a wide emotional spectrum in her work, from the ethereal radiance of the Sylph in La Sylphide and the dramatic intensity of Cio-Cio San in Madame Butterfly, to the crystalline perfection of Diamonds in Jewels. Ms. Goh has danced in the works of some of today's most illustrious contemporary choreographers, including John Neumeier's Now and Then, Kenneth Macmillan's Song of the Earth, Jiri Kylian's Dream Dances, Anthony Tudor's Leaves are Fading and James Kudelka's The Four Seasons and The Firebird. Ms. Goh has guested with ballet companies the world over, including the Royal Danish Ballet, Washington Ballet, The National Ballet of China, Hong Kong Ballet, Suzanne Farrell Ballet Company and the Vail International Dance Festival. In fall of 2002, she organized and led the Stars of North American Ballet Gala in Beijing. Her autobiography, Beyond the Dance, was published in October 2002.
