Calling all Dancers!
Auditions for
East vs West Side Story
Saturday and Sunday, June 7th - 8th
ballet tech cincinnati
invites dancers, tumblers and gymnasts of all ages and dance genres to audition
for its 2008-09 Season Opener Production, East
vs West Side Story
Be a part of the popular West Side Story set in Cincinnati with a gang
of ballet and jazz dancers vs. a gang of hip hop dancers!
Production will be at the Aronoff Center
on October 3 and 4, 2008
Auditions
Saturday, June 7th
2:00 -3:00 PM | age 5-10
2:30 -4:00 PM | age 11 and up
Sunday, June 8th
3:00 -4:00 PM | age 5-10
3:30 -5:00 PM | age 11 and up
Dancers should arrive at the audition with
a fully completed Audition Application & signed Production Contract.

All auditions will be held at the new ballet tech cincinnati world headquarters in Kennedy Heights, 6543 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, OH 45213. Get Directions
Dancers should bring ballet, tap or pointe shoes, if qualified.
FAQ's
About the Audition
• The audition will include a brief warm-up/class and then consist of several
dance phrases that incorporate the various dance genres listed above.
• Dancers do not need to come prepared with any audition pieces.
• Dancers may participate in the entire audition, or only the specific genres
they feel comfortable with.
• Dancers should bring all types of shoes for dance styles/genres they intend
to audition for including: ballet slippers, pointe shoes, tap shoes, and jazz
shoes.
• Dancers should arrive at the audition with a fully completed Audition Application
& signed Production Contract.

About the Production Process
• Rehearsals are generally held on Weekends between the hous of
2 PM - 7 PM. A Rehearsal Schedule will be given after Casting has been done.
• Please check your calendars about Production Week (Sept 29 - October
5). During Production week, final run-through's, dress rehearsals, and tech
rehearsals at the Theatre will be held each evening starting at 6 PM. Younger
children will be released as early as possible. Rehearsals for Older youth and
Adults may go until 9 or 10 PM. We will keep most other rehearsals during the
rehearsal process on weekends. All production week rehearsals are at btc studios
until the final tech/dress at The Aronoff Center/Jarson Kaplan Theatre on the
Thursday of the production. If deemed neccessary, leads and major dancers may
also be asked to attend a Friday Noon-4PM additional dress rehearsal before
the Friday Night Opening Show - this will be decided suring rehearsal week.
IT may require those in major roles to be out of school/work.
• Absences & Tardiness during the rehearsal process should be kept to a
minimum, any vacations or family conflicts can be worked around if we are given
advance notice. Please be sure to detail on the Audition Application what your
potential vacations, weekly/weekend time conflicts might be.
