Award
winning ballet tech cincinnati
is on a roll
Since
moving to its new Kennedy Heights World Headquarters in September
2007, ballet tech cincinnati
has made significant strides towards accomplishing its mission, making
a phenomenal impact on the neighborhood and the region. It is co-anchor
of the new “District A” Montgomery
Corridor Arts Collaborative, produces community oriented arts
programming and offers classes,
workshops and Summer
Youth Performing Arts Camp. Monthly Jazz
Jam sessions provide a great venue for student and amateur musicians
to perform with professionals in a smoke-free/alcohol-free family-friendly
environment. A dozen performances have already been presented at The
Community Theater, home to ballet tech
cincinnati and other company performances, such as
MamLuft
& Co. Dance and Q
City Players Improv Company.
The seventh season as a resident company at the Aronoff Center has
already produced two blockbuster world premieres: The
Jazzy Sleeping Beauty and Rikki
Tikki Tavi. The 7th Annual Gala
of International Ballet Stars on Saturday,
August 9th promises to continue raising the barre on excellence and
diversity. The premiere performance at the Carnegie Visual & Performing
Arts Center, Rikki Tikki Tavi, on June
20-21st, exemplifes our innovation, diversity and excellence.
So it’s no surprise that ballet
tech cincinnati is winning awards for its work. In
2008, board members Michael Beck and Marvel Gentry Davis won Leadership
awards from the Cincinnati Chapter of Links, Inc. Producing Artistic
Director and President, Board of the Directors, Marvel Gentry Davis
won the Leading Women Arts/Entertainment Award and the Merlin G. Pope
Diversity Leadership Award for her leadership in Diversity in the
Arts. Then, ballet tech cincinnati won
the prestigious 2008 Scripps-Corbett Award in Arts Innovation in large
measure due to its intense focus on excellence, diversity and innovation.
Grants from Stillson Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee,
Greater Cincinnati Foundation and US Bank reward our excellence and
community impact with financial support.
Now is the time to get on board and keep the momentum going-contribute
to our Raising
the Barre Campaign and be a part of our growing
success!
