Calling all Dancers!
We are pleased to announce auditions for our upcoming production
The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty
Saturday and Sunday June 23-24, 2007

We're looking for dancers of all ages and dance genres to audition for our exciting new production, The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty. On Saturday, June 23rd auditions will be held at UC-College Conservatory of Musi. Ages 5-10: 12-1:30PM / Age 11 & Up: 1:30-3 PM.On Sunday, June 24th auditions will be held at College Hill Town Hall. Ages 5-10: 2-3:30PM / Age 11 & Up: 3:30-5 PM. Dancers should bring ballet, jazz, tap or pointe shoes, if qualified.

The World Premier of The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty will be at the Aronoff Center on September 14-15, 2007. A fresh, brand new view into Tchaikovsky’s traditional classical Sleeping Beauty, with live accompaniment by the three-time Cappie Award-winning Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Electric Jazz Orchestra under the direction of conductor Dan Grantham, this production will portray the traditional story, classical choreography and Tchaikovsky music, with an exciting new jazzy twist.

ballet tech cincinnati commissioned choreographer Waverly Lucas II to spice up the ballet with jazzy contemporary choreography and composer Mark Lucas to re-score new jazzy arrangements of the traditional Tchaikovsky music in sections of the ballet. Traditional ballet audiences and dance neophytes alike will love the old, and thrill to the nuances of the new music and choreography of this innovative production of
The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty

2007 Chinese Dance Camp
with Families with Children from China
and H.T. Chen & Dancers from NYC.
August 6-10
Ages 6 - 9 – 9 AM – 11 AM
Ages 10 & up 12 PM – 3PM

Students will have the opportunity to explore elements of traditional Chinese culture through calligraphy and the use of dance props. They will also explore traditional and contemporary dance techniques, learn company repertoire, and compose dance studies that allow them to bring their own cultural heritage and dance practices to the imaginative investigation of movement
