The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty opens ballet tech cincinnati's 7th Season Series at the Aronoff Center at 8 PM on September 14-15, 2007 and 2 PM on September 15, 2007. A fresh, brand new view into Tchaikovsky's traditional classical Sleeping Beauty, with live accompaniment by three-time Cappie Award-winning Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Electric Jazz & Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Dan Grantham, this production will entertain audience members with the traditional story, classical choreography and Tchaikovsky music, with an exciting new jazzy twist.

ballet tech cincinnati coommissioned choreographer Waverly Lucas II, Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Atlanta's Ballethnic Dance Company, to spice up the ballet with jazzy contemporary choreography and composer Mark Lomax to re-score new jazzy arrangements of the traditoinal Tchaikovsky music sections of the ballet. Traditional ballet audiences and dance neophytes alike will love the old, and thrill to the nuances of the new music and choreography of this innovative production of The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty.

ballet tech cincinnati moves into new world headquarters

ballet tech cincinnati held its first rehearsal in its new Kennedy Heights workd headquarters on Saturday, September 8, 2007. With the Conconnati Hills Christian Academy Electric Jazz & Symphony Orchestra, the cast did a run-through rehearsal of Act 1 of the World Premiere of The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty scheduled to open the company's seventh season series at the Aronoff Ceter at 8 PM on September 14-5, 2007 and 2 PM on Saturday, September. 15, 2007.

The new world headquarters at 6543 Montgomery Rd in Kennedy Heights neighbrhood of Cincinnati is an excellent location for the facility. "We are right in the center of the new focus on the arts as a way to spur economic & community development in the Montgomery Rd. Corridor. With all the new investment in education and th arts, ballet tech cincinnati looks forward to fully participating in and helping to create new development opportunties for other arts organizations and businesses in the community" Marvel Gentry Davis, Producing Artistic Director and President, Board of Diretorss said. During the rehearsal, many community members stiopped by, curious and anxious to learn about the company, performances, classes and new positive activity in the building, which had been vacant for 13 years. The rehearsal for The Jazzy Sleeping Beauty was the first in the facility, which is still under renovation.
